Hi all,
Need some help on breeds. Asked for a few and got given the lot after a show as saved the owner air freight. I have more than one in some but then only of a few of them so I am struggling to guess breeds. As I don’t know which hatchery they came from I don’t know what to narrow it down just know time will help. However if I could know for sure on some then I can re home a few too. I live in sydney but believe these came originally from Queensland.
Thanks for your help!
New here so any advice on pics and info is greatly appreciated hence my new post in this thread area.
Think: but no expert we have two other hens that are leghorn and isa brown so I am new to “fancy” chickens
1.Wyandotte
8. May be a buff Sussex
9. Rhode Island red
11. Astralorp

I’m just guessing, I’m still learning breeds:
1 and 4, maybe Cochins, possibly partridge?
7 maybe light Brahma
Does 5 have feathered or clean legs?
9 looks good for a Rhode Island Red
What color are the bottoms of 11s feet? Kinda looks like a black Jersey giant to me. 15 maybe golden laced Wyandotte?

1 is a SLW. 2 and 4 I do not know, they look like mutts to me. 3 is a olive egger, or a EE. 5 I’m not sure. 7 is a Colombian wyandotte. 8 I’m not sure on. 9 is either a rode island, or a cinnamon queen. 10, 14, 15 all are pet quality GLWs. And you are correct, 11 is indeed a Black astralorp.

1 silver laced Wyandotte.

2 off color buff Brahma or Brahma mix.

3 Easter egger

4 Brahma mix

5 lavender Orpington

7 Light Brahma

8 Buff Orpington mix

9 Rhode Island red

10 gold laced Wyandotte or a mix of that breed with something else

11 Australorp, perhaps

12 Wyandotte mix

13 gold laced Wyandotte

A great majority of these are cockerels. 1, 4, 9 and 15 look to be pullets. The rest are males.

5 is not a lavender orpington. Its too light, I know color differs per chicks. However, that looks to be the lightest lavender orpington I have ever seen.

Cochins have feathered legs and single combs.
Chick 1 is not a Cochin, because it has clean legs and a rose comb.
Chick 4 is not a Cochin, because it has a pea comb.

7 is a Colombian wyandotte.
No, because all varieties of Wyandotte have clean feet, but chick 7 has feathered feet.

I agree with most of @JedJackson list, although I might have guessed a few to be less-than-ideal purebreds where he guessed mixes.

8 Buff Orpington mix
8. May be a buff Sussex
I think chick 8 is probably a Buff Sussex, rather than a Buff Orpington mix.

do you think 13 could be barnevelder?

do you think 13 could be barnevelder?
I am pretty sure 13 is a Gold Laced Wyandotte.

Number 13 has a rose comb, bright gold color, and single lacing (1 black line on each feather.)

Barnevelders have single combs and usually have a rich red/brown color rather than a bright gold. They also have double lacing (2 black lines on each feather for hens, somewhat different pattern that is not so obviously laced on roosters), although as chicks the feathers may show dots or speckles or crosswise lines instead of the adult pattern.
