April 18th hatch!

I am so EXCITED! I have about 30
eggs set to hatch on/around the 18th of april! I used to raise delwares but it has been 6 years since I have raised any fowl. I have 16 maran eggs that are Davis, Greenfire lines and the rest are 6 other marans, 3 Americana, and 3 easter eggers. Anyone else hatching around the same time? I am about to candle and see who looks like they are developing. I will update!

27 out of 30 look like they are going strong! The marans are hard to tell right now but for sure two eggers and 1 maran don’t look like they are developing. Thats pretty good rate for shipped eggs!

Update: unfortunately everything was going great until power went out due to terrible storms for 6+ hours on hatch day! I ended up with 6 BCM from the GFF/Davis bloodlines, and 4 BCM, 1 A, and 2 EE. So 13 out of the 27 that developed from all! I have set 3 different hatches for call ducks over the last month and my husband bought a generator to avoid that fiasco again! Fingers crossed these will go much better! I also am waiting on a dz more A eggs.

Not bad! What kind of incubator did you use?

I apologize for my late response! I have two Farm Innovators 4250. One has a turner and one is for hatching since I have staggered batches going. I like it and it is a good one so far!
