If you have chicken eggs in I was told to take one out. Ducks I was told to leave them both in. I have both of mine in for the turkeys and ducks.

I have a still air and I leave them in other than to regulate temp up or down in small amounts. If I take one out usually my temp will drop about 1/2 a degree & raise if I put it back in. Leaving them in helps to keep the humidity in. And then when they start to hatch I usually pull them both just to be sure they get enough oxygen. I don't know whats "recommended" but that seems to work for me.
Well , I woke up and checked the incubator and the temp dipped to 96!!!! I don't know how long it was like that, when I went to bed at 10:30 last night it was at 99.6 degrees. They are on day 2, is this going to effect them?

I don't know, but am interested in the answer. I got home from work this morning to find mine had dropped to about the same temp! I know when the kids went to bed, the temp was fine so????
Also, I took both plugs out, maybe I should put them back in?? Ambient humidity is around 87%, a little lower in the house, so I didn't think it would make that much difference. They have been in about 60 hours, and the water wells are still full. Any advice?
Ok, so eggs have been in about 60 hours. I couldn't stand it, and candled the eggs this morning when I turned them.
It seems most of my eggs are off to a good start
Of course all I could see were some darker circles in the middle, but they were there in most of the eggs!!! In some they were clear as day... Oh I am so excited!!!
I just started the bator with 13 favs (purchased) and 13 mixed (home flock) eggs. High hopes for some favs! I don'tknow if any of the mixed are fertile, I saved the largest eggs for about a week to put in. I think they are from my 2 langshan hens but I have never seen my roo pay them any attention. I think he is imtimidated by their size. LOL so we'll see.
