Thank goodness for your spare incubator top. I swore that my last hatch in the 2nd bator would not make it out after a temp spike to 104 for several hours. Well they made it out just fine, except the one egg with the oversized air cell. Soon it will be hapening for you!

Hello,
I am sharing my April hatch. It is my first one and also my hens first time too!

We now have an Australorp!

I left for 2 hrs to get kids from school, and this guy showed up! He came out of an egg I hadn't even noticed had pipped!

Silly, silly, silly.

We have 9 Dorkings still to finish (3 have almost finished zipping and the rest are all pipped or very zipped), 11 Aussies and 23 Brahmas. No Brahmas are out yet, but 2 have huge holes (pip/zips) in them. LOTS of cheeping!

Wait, how come your sig says you have EEs, but your egg is an Ameraucana x Araucana?

Anyway - I'd love to see the little EE when it hatches.

I cannot wait until I start hatching some Araucana x Marans. A different kind of Olive Egger.

The eggs in my incubator aren't from my hens, they are from Julie at Gabbard Farms. I don't have any Ameraucanas . . . yet!

I do have 3 pips now though - all A/A eggs. Evidently they are impatient to get out.

Ah, so then they're just plain EEs. Sorry, but Gabbard Farms sells EEs, not Ameraucana/Araucana crosses. . . There's a difference. They're using the same sales pitch Murray McMurray does.

Oh that doesn't matter to me as I want them strictly for adding some color to my egg basket (assuming some of them are pullets, hopefully). I seem to be pretty good at hatching roos lately. Have you looked at the Gabbard Farms website though? If the birds are not an Ameraucana/Araucana cross they are certainly, ummm, extremely misrepresented, shall we say. This is a direct quote from their hatching eggs page "AMERAUCANA/ARAUCANA (hybrid) : Ameraucana/Araucana have beards, muffs, and a normal tail with a tail head. " That's rather annoying if the eggs are not actually from an Ameraucana/Araucana cross breeding.

I have frizzles due to hatch tomorrow

I am so excited....the little mama hen has been patiently sitting and waiting so I hope all goes well....can't wait to see them!!!

That's my point - False advertising.
