I remember a bad incubation that tought me a lesson for sanitizing the incubator well. Have recently purchased (online at brinsea.com) some Brinsea sanitizer. In addition, on that same bad incubation, I had used my tap water which is well water. I had always used distilled water in the past, but not that time. I noticed that the water in the trays after the hatch was over exceptionally bad. The whole hatch was very poor with very weak chicks, that did not do well at all. So, now it's always sanitize & use distilled water in the bator for the humidity.
