APRIL hatch goodness happens here!!!

Quote:
My eggs came a day earlier than I expected (they arrived Monday morning) so I set them on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. for an April 6th hatch date - just after Easter!

I'm right there with ya! I have a Hova-bator full (yes, 42 eggs full) with Dorkings, Brahmas and Australorps. Yes, I like my chickens BIG!

This will be my second batch EVER

, my first being tragic with only 2 out of 22 eggs hatching (a school project gone awry, all my stupid fault, see thread "they died"

) so I'm super nervous. I got tons of advice from BYC, lots of support, and am trying to do this as by the book as possible.

Hatch dates are the 7th and 8th, the eggs set last night (Dorkings hot off the press, from broody momma to my 'bator), and this morning (shipped eggs I had to let sit overnight). I may have a busy couple of days that week!

I can't wait to candle next week and see how they are doing, esp the Dorkings.

I set 14 shipped Buckeye eggs on the morning of 3/11 in my bator...today is day 8...I haven't candled yet. This is my second hatch this year. The first one only three pipped and just two hatched. Hoping for good things on this one!

I set 12 barnyard mix today in my homemade bator. My first hatch was in February and those babies are doing well. Hatching is addicting!! I hope the 21 days fly by....
