Thanks to everyone who has helped with prior questions! After building an awkward 11X3 raised floor to incorporate our new tiny coop into room for 8 hens, we’ve decided to scrap the coop and build all new on our platform. Narrow space represents coop and wider space is run. I am using the shed wall as part of the run wall. We are about to do a final leveling and place support blocks, and I’m trying to get the long, 63” tall back end of the coop as close to the fence as possible since I can only build out the run 5.5’ parallel to the shed. Rain comes from the front of the shed corner toward the high front side of the coop. The run will be covered to protect that side. I am doing a 10” overhang all around, but that makes my coop come out quite a bit from the shed and fence line and I don’t want to remove the posts I put in (don’t want deer jumping on my coop.)
If I run a gutter along the short end can I reduce the overhang? And if I line apron And weight with the big landscaping rocks along the bottom of the fence line and shed will it still prevent critters who may be digging from the other side? I’d hate for them to slip under the fence or from under the shed and avoid the apron. I’m digging down a little bit but
it’s very rocky after 6” and I don’t think I can bury 2 feet down.
