Aquariums, anyone?

i have bristlenose plecos (2)
3 cory catfish,
a marbled and also and a silver angelfish (freshwater)
4 glowlight tetras
2 guppies
mystery snails
Everyone always says that angelfish will kill everything because they are cichlids, but they are really peaceful.
Any recommendations for new fish are great.
If your angel is behaving, no problem. Make sure your new setup has enough hides for everyone.

I'm not sure what freshwater plants you have available in Switzerland, but in general, if you're establishing a new tank with live plants, you need MIMIMUM 30 days for everything to cycle and the water to stabilize before you add any fish. If you plan to move your s over, you need to get the water conditions in the new tank as close to the existing one as you can to prevent a lot of stress and potential fish kill when you move them over.

I would start by getting in your rocks/wood/plants and let that all cycle. Make sure you have the right lights and water flow for your plants (may need a power head or 2 and some strategic placement of baffles to manage flow). Test the water often and adjust your balance as needed to stabilize it for your plants. then gradually start moving the fish over, with the angel being LAST. Let all the other fish establish their hides and areas before you bring in the cichlid so it doesn't get territorial and aggressive in the new tank.

Then let them all stabilize for 30 days or more. Once everything is moved over and healthy, you can look into adding more fish. depending on the live p[lants, your algae production may go off the charts, so 3 corys may not be enough to manage a 55 gallon. Might look into a plecco or more corys. NO SNAILS!

How do you keep driftwood down? I have aquarium glue if that is the only option?
1. Boil it so that it fully saturates with water. Just soaking it does not always fully saturate it. If it still floats after that:
2. Tie, drill/screw, or epoxy (fish safe of course) slate tile to the bottom of it. Then bury the slate under your gravel. It will hold it down and since it's flat, it's easy to conceal under the gravel. If you're using an undergravel filter, make sure not to block it.

I am only FROM switzerland, i live in idaho
I swear your profile sais Switzerland when I looked. :p

OK in the US you have a lot of choices for bottom/mid/top of the water column live plants. The sky is really the limit. Pick plants that like the same water conditions your fish do (PH, Nitrogen, etc), and you should be good.

Aquarium co-op is a good place to get live plants if you don't have a local resource you already trust.

Also, don't forget tank heaters.

I am looking for a filter in the style that i showed you, i dont want one that is external. plus the lid. Also, why no snails?
If you like that style filter, go for it. :) The 110 is a great option but if you don't want a side-hang filter, not a problem at all.

Snails tend to multiply and get out of control quickly unless you have something in the tank keeping the population in check. Too many snails can mess up your water quality and stress your fish. As a form of algae control, even a magnetic sponge is a better option.
