And yes, I have vesuvias chain swords and anubias barteri that are desperate for a trim and always, always an overgrowth of java moss.

Are you SURE you don't want a few pieces of anubis? I am waaay behind and as much as the fish like the heavy foliage, the stuff it literally climbing out of the tank now

Any ideas on what fish would look nice with the current?

My fish are not high current types and the ones you mentioned really aren't either. I run a massively oversized canister on this tank but with the spray bar, the current is gentle enough that the gouramis will build bubble nests.
