I purchased Aquila chicks a few months ago. They were supposed to be sexed pullets, but I'm not so sure. This chick was attacked by older hens and has a nasty wound on the back of its head. I have "her" separate to heal. I could have sworn I just heard the beginning of a little crow. I've never had this breed before so I don't really know what to look for. Based on behavior, I'm thinking this is a little roo. Are those saddle feathers I'm seeing?

What do you lovely BackYard chicken people think? Thanks!!

she has big waddles and comb but tail feathers and the fact she was attacked by peers makes it seem like she is a she. I think a rooster would not be getting beat up by same age hens at this age/stage of development?

It wasn't the same age hens. It was the older hens. We integrated them and had no problems for months until the other day. This sudden change makes me think rooster...
