Araucana and barred rock cross?

Hi all, I'm new to this forum and backyard chickens!

We bought 4 chicks from a breeder 3 weeks ago and they are around 7-8 weeks of age right now. One of them (Spike) started to develop ear feathers (tufts???) 2 weeks ago! Spike now looks so funny and cute! I of course looked up on google and found out that the only breed of chicken with tufts is the Araucana, I'm pretty sure Spike is not that, maybe a cross breed? The tufts are getting big and super symmetrical! Well maybe they are not even tufts?

If anyone has any idea I would really appreciate it!

Thank you!

It's difficult to tell if they are actually tufts, or if the bird has muffs with no beard. Generally a bearded fowl has the beard under it's chin, and then muffs above around the beak. They look kind of like whiskers. I think this one has the muffs but no beard. And if so, there are many breeds which could have passed this trait down to him. Easter eggers, Faverolles, Ameraucanas, bearded bantams, etc. The most likely candidate is Easter egger, since they are so common.

There isn’t any beard under the chin, and the “whiskers” are closer to the ears than the beak but they are definitely in front of the ears and somewhat covering the ears. I suppose that would be muffs?
Do you think he has barred rock in him? Pretty sure it’s a Roo, it’s been fighting with others pretty often!
