Figured I'd just start a thread where I can update with new pictures of these guys. They moved out to the Savannah Playhouse coop today!

And Jodi... I think she's got some good tufting going on.

I don't think any of the others have tufts. There are these tiny tiny little quills coming out of most of their ear areas, and they are pointing upward. But they look nothing like the big tufts on that gal.

Very nice. My husband is working on mine right now!! How did you modify the interior, other than painting? Nest boxes, roost? Can you post some more pics- if you don't mind sharing?

ETA: Do you have a run attached?

Thanks, English Chick and Beau coop!

Beau coop, so far I have added a roost, an extra vent and a run. Here's some pics of the roost, with all of the little fuzzy-butts on it!

The run attached to the back, but I haven't yet cut out a pop door. I know most people would use the pre-existing front door as the pop door, but I wanted to keep the look of the front of the house intact without obscuring it by the run. Plus, it worked out better to place the run off the back. I don't feel comfortable enough yet to let them out anyway. The nesting box will be coming next.

And one more pic of these guys from last night...

Cass,
Thanks for the pics!! Love the paint job.

My husband is having issues with the roof. He has definite gaps between the sections. Is this how yours is? Or is it a construction error?

ETA: could your chicks be cuter?!

I'll work in getting a pic up of the coop over the weekend, The Hoof and Hen Ranch.

Beau coop, yes there were some gaps in my roof too. I used Great Stuff to seal off around the parimiter where the roof rests on the house. And for the central line where the two sides of the roof meet, I caulked in a waterproof sealant. This has worked out pretty well so far. I found one spot I had to patch after a recent rain, but all in all it's all right. I'm considering putting little eaves across the front and back edge of the roof to redirect the rain. If I figure out how to do it I'll post pictures of what I use.

Thanks.

Here's a pic from today. My white tufted one is a roo!! Pretty darned sure at this point. Here he is sitting next to my blue... which I think I am seeing barring on?

See the combs? White guy is definitely pinking up. The other Araucanas have no color to their comb yet. I am almost certain that blue and the non-tufted white are girls. The only one left to watch is the black guy.

ETA I just went and looked at the black one again and I believe that it is a rooster. It's rather pink there too, just doesn't have as big of a comb.
