Araucana egg candling results

For anyone's follow-up interest: Before lockdown I candled the eggs again and only one stood out as no good, so I disposed of that one. Breaking it confirmed it had failed early on. The other five were inconclusive so I left them. Two hatched a day early and the other three hatched about 20 hours later. They're all pretty happy so far. Interesting experience. I would say they were difficult to candle!

Interesting ! Thank you for the update. I was looking at your photos. Did the ones with the slanted yolks, start developing to the side ? I’ve had shipped eggs in the past, but would just see a saddled air cell here and there. I’m glad the majority hatched !! They are beautiful.

This is the first lot of eggs I have incubated, so I don't have a lot of experience. However, based on other photos on the internet the air cell seemed quite large at day 7/8, and was already biased to one side. I didn't candle them right at the start, which would have provided an interesting comparison. All the chicks pipped off-centre, which maybe is normal?
