There is nothing wrong with keeping chickens just to keep them! What colors do you have now? Maybe I can help you to figure out if and what you need to do to get some splash and Blues. Blues are a dilution of black and splashes are a further dilution of black. You would likely need to have either a blue or a splash to get more blues or splashes but it would still be interesting to hear what you are working with.

I will get brown red ameraucana male and the pullets are: salmon faverolle, black minorca, white (non dominant) NN, white leghorns, and some red NN and golden comets. I will get a BCM male and will cross him with my araucana from the pic (and BCM hen), maybe with these 2:


if I get a brown red ameraucana pullet, I might cross her to a BCM to get olive eggers. the breeder has only brown red ameraucanas.

I bought him as a brahma but he seems to be cross breed. if I cross him with light brahma what colour do I get?
