Araucana- hen or rooster?

she's beautiful she looks like what they call a lavender Americana here in Arizona.forgive me for spelling of the breed incorrectly.
I sure wish I could be in Spokane I was born up there but I was never there very long, up to 18 months of age. In Mesa it's very hot here now 106 today I believe.;)

Ha I grew up in Litchfield Park, AZ! I know all about the summer heat :) spokane is much nicer in the summer but I definitely miss Arizona in the winter.

This is all very good to hear. Glad to know this for myself. I've had the emotional misfortune of buying baby chicks..supposedly, but not guaranteed, hens. It breaks my heart when..after four months, one or two turn out to be roosters and I can't keep them. I've already fallen in love with them and work like crazy to try and find good homes.

Now I won't buy a chicken less than at least three months, although I greatly miss the adorable baby chick phase. But, can't risk it.

I've had two chicks named Zoe that turned out to be Zorro's. No more. Bad luck name.
