Araucana question

Yes, you can usualy see them with close inspection of the ear lobes.

Here is a black one with dark tufts..

It is tougher to see on whites, look closely and you should see some fuzz sticking out from the ear that almost completely covers the ear opening. As they grow it becomes more apparent, as the quills stick straight out the side of the head.

Usually they are visible as soon as the chicks fluff out. Sometimes you have to look very closely -- some chicks have very small tufts, others are quite obvious.
