Ah, okay. That's what I was thinking, but wasn't sure if it was to work on a color one didn't have, or because Ameraucana have a better lay rate (I don't know if they actually do or not).

I've seem tufted muffled birds online, they pretty goofy

Hers are just stunning. Of the other 4 tufted ones, none of the male's have nice ones and the other female still has small ones.

They would bounce all over when she was young and they were too heavy for her. Not quite as much now. I'm hopeful I can put her with my leaky blue and leaky black males and get her tufts with the chicks
 
Honestly I know a lot of people don't think they're as nice because they're mixed colors and not showable, but for what I paid for them, I'm very happy with one pair and the other 4 pairs are quite nice. Even the cull males are nice, they just happened to outnumber the amount of girls I got.

Now I just need one of them to start laying so I can see a pretty blue egg in person finally
