sorry, I didn't communicate very well what I was asking....do your hatching egg stock get alot of tails or are most of them rumpless typically?
Yeah Stacy.I just sold the rooster in my avatar, so I need to go take down the listing! He went locally to a nice gentleman who definitely knows what a real Araucana is, which is exciting!
I get tails from time to time. Last fall I ended up with several tails and this spring I have a few also. All of my birds are rumpless, 1 roo has 3 tail feathers that hang down but he is rumpless. I hatch from him because he is a unique color and I get quite a few people who would like to have chicks out of him.
I don't keep the chicks with tails. I have a couple right now that have tails and huge amazing tufts. Someone will get some nice pullets when they buy them.
