Araucana thread anyone?

Can you help me get these colors straight? I think the 1st is a Silver Duckwing, 2nd a Gold Duckwing and the 3rd a BBR/Wild type hen(or are the 2nd and 3rd the same color?). I'd just like to know what to call them.
Thanks if anyone can help.

For some reason my female has a few feathers from her bum.
She is still 'rumpless' if the makes any sense. She just has a few straggles back there.
I've had this pair for 8 days now and have only gotten 1 egg from her. I hope that she
gives more soon. Maybe she is just stressed from her move.

I think he was picked on. He has started to get feathers back on his neck a bit since I've
had him. I've dubbed them "Rick and Lucy".

They are sweethearts!

Ksane,

You have 1 silver duckwing and two black breasted red based on wild type. There is no gold duckwing in hens per se. Illia and I have argued this point only to find out we were both saying the same thing. To get a show gold duckwing hen, you need a silver duckwing hen that has autosomal red which reddens up the red areas. All three of your girls are beautiful especially the 3rd one.

Very lovely birds! I agree that the third one is stunning, those tufts are so...poofy!

So my backyard is host to a rather odd group of young fowl. I brooded three Araucana chicks, and when they were two weeks old, I added three freshly hatched goslings to the brooder. I figured the size difference wasn't too bad at the time, though the geese would grow fast. Well, they've been outside and free ranging for at least a month, and the little group is inseparable. The goslings run after the chicks if they get too far away, and the chicks run for the goslings if they waddle away. I mean, by now I'd have expected the goslings to join the ducks, and the chicks to join the rest of the flock. None of them are bullied, either. They are just...bonded? The chicks sleep under the geese (who pile on the coop floor) at night, rather than roosting!

And I love your Silver Duckwing male-that color is so awesome (in both genders) but add a no-rump and it's adorable :)

Thanks! It seems I recall some discussion in the past about certain colors being called something else in Araucana and....Dorking, maybe? Can't remember.

I love all 3 of these little girls, I was so happy to have found them. The little double tufted one is only 5 wks. Her tufts look so cute because they've got the lacing like the rest of her :)Their personalities are so awesome, quiet and calm and so sweet and gentle. I'm anxious to see if the 7 that just hatched have personalities like that since these 3 are the 1st I ever had.

In Araucana the colors are Black Breasted Red ( wheaten in large fowl) , Silver Duckwing, Golden Duckwing, white, black all in the large fowl. In the bantam they are black, white, Black Breasted Red ( Wild Type ), Blue, Buff, and Silver. There is no golden duckwing in the bantam approved colors.

That's good info to have, Lanae, thank you.
Here's the babies that hatched yesterday from RaynDebi's eggs. I was so happy 7 of the 8 in lockdown hatched. Do they get any cuter?? lol
