Araucana thread anyone?

It's extremely rewarding to work with what you can get and turn them into something you can be very proud of... and I love the breed... it's worth it to me, so I continue...

3 years and I'm finally getting this...

Thank you... patience was the key... waiting for just the right bird to turn it around... that's why I recommend being picky and waiting, instead of just getting what you can get... that works to start, but to improve and go forward you need quality to breed to and breed back to... Apollo has done that for us... :)

So, do you hatch year round? Or just during the normal months? - I'm trying to figure out how many generations you've had to breed to get where you are, in 3 years.... Congratulations, your hard work and dedication is paying off handsomely

I've hatched year round in the past, stopped doing it cuz winter brooding sucks... last year I hatched over 100 Call ducks before spring... never again... :sick

I wouldn't be hatching now, but I need to get some more rumpless pullets and work on leakage... hatch tons and cull down to the best few...
