Araucana thread anyone?

I'm going to see how Topaz crosses to Degas and if there are any blues, I'll know that much. I'm not sure about how to cross to figure out if she is also brown red though. I wonder if crossing her to a blue rooster might produce a splash then, with the black diluted? I'm probably way off.

Oh, Quirky, that first pullet is so feminine and lovely. Her blue is really quite something. She makes me think of blue wheatens, only more so

. Is she one of the birds that you got from Lanae?

Thanks, y'all:D. All three came from Lanae. The BBR is indeed a little cockerel. He started trying to crow this week; it's funny and not terribly impressive.

They are looking really good Elizabeth. I love the pullets coloring also. Is the splash pullet getting more splash yet. She was very pale splash when she left here.

There is nothing quite so comical is a young roo trying to crow. They are so serious about it too. Its like my son whose voice is changing. Very endearing.

I was greeted this morning with my white silkie roo attempting to crow for the first time..and I thought araucanas sounded pathetic while learning to crow..he sounded like he was strangling..lol
While I was laughing at him (his name is Marsh, and his pullet mate is Mellow, she is a partridge), I heard a noise from the blue pen...and finally located who was attempting to crow. It was my tufted, rumpless blue "pullet"!! So I guess my search for a tufted, rumpless blue roo is over.

I now have a partial tailed double tufted BBR roo, a clean-faced blue roo, and a double tufted blue roo. I seem to be roo poor lately. I have 3 hopefully pullet blues, and one double tufted partially tailed BBR pullet. I hope when my lavender eggs hatch, that I have some more pullets, but a lavender roo would be nice!
