Were they some of Ann's own personal chicks? Did it give any details as to how many were tufted? Just curious, way out of my price range as I have already had the USPS kill 16 out of 18 day-olds shipped to me! Much too risky! Charlie

Three were double tuffed. They sold for $200.00.

In theory the price wasn't too bad. About $19.00 a chick and 3 were double tufted. They went super quick.

I wish I knew at that young of an age that a chick wasn't going into my breeding pens. She has been at it soo long, she has a few tricks I can't wait to learn. I am still wishy washy at 5 months.

I have a really nice roo that is 5 months old, cleanfaced and rumpless. His rump is beautiful, and he looks to be a good size, so I am thinking of pairing him with a couple of tufted pullets that have nice rumps also and seeing how babies turn out. I may change my mind next week though. I couldn't imagine looking and knowing on day olds.

If I didn't add so many new breeds I would gladly spend that much on live chicks....spent so much on araucana eggs over the past 3 years and still only have a few

. All the time, effort and dissapointment.....that price is a deal in my book

Does anyone know of a good source for Buff Araucana bantams?

Or Splash Araucana bantams?

Or Red Araucana bantams?

I have pips! My final batch of araucana eggs is onto hatching. So with the previosu group, and this one hatching, I hope to have a nice group of birds with desirable traits. I got these eggs from three different breeders this time, Chicken Scratch Poultry, and I winged it with two eBay sellers of araucanas that seemed to have nice stock that were rumpless and tufted.

Stacykins, Congrats on your latest batch of eggs! I have bought chicks from Chicken Scratch and they were all nice solid blacks, was told that they were Nancy Utterback lineage. I had turned my incubator's off after the last hatch but now I find myself saving just a few more eggs for one more setting this summer, maybe in hopes of a few more tufts! Hope things work out well for you! Charlie
