So I finally got around to taking pictures of the newest fluffy butts! Five total hatched, number six was a dead in shell.

Not sure what this little tyke is. Is a light grey and white with a bit of red on the face


Chipmunky type chick


This chick is almost completely black, really stunning!


First of the two tufted kids!



Second, very fluffy chick! Not bearded, just has a pair of chin tufts, the peduncles are there!

That last chick is killer cute! What a fantastic color pattern. I look forward to seeing what that little one grows into and especially those chin tufts.

Congrats and nice chicks!!

Especially the tufts on the last one. Although too low set for my taste they'll still end up magnificent! My current cockerel's tufts are slowly disappearing, likely getting eaten by other birds. My bilaterally tufted pullet is already clean-faced

Happened overnight. Show now just has fleshy whitish colored blobs.

Love the chipmunkey chick by the way - Looks like it will either be blue based, a wheaten split, or both, or something else similar. Those are some pretty light stripes but still definitely stripes.

Turns out I didn't get a pure Araucana this last hatch (

) but I did get two Polish x Araucanas, and they're a pair. One is a blue cuckoo, verging on crele colored male, rumpless, crested, and bearded. The other is a tufted female, blue with gold leakage, but tailed. She's only got one big tuft though so that will be her "glamorous" side for photos.

Coberdor's eggs due to hatch pretty soon. . . And in the mean time I've got a batch of some of my own collecting up, due to be set any day now.

Of my Gary Ramey eggs, it looks like 1 will make it to lockdown. All of the aircells were really badly damaged. Of Carmels eggs, 2 appear to still be good but the aircells are huge and misshapen, so not sure how that is going to affect things. Gotta love the Araucana breed. LOL! One of the most frustrating creatures from start to finish it seems.

Lanae, I know exactly what you mean. If this love of the Araucana breed, were a human relationship, my friends would be telling me to leave him! So much disappointment, but the successes are just that much more treasured.
And I just love their "bustles".
