Araucana thread anyone?

Tuft envy strikes again! The only good tufts I'm getting so far are out of my Olive Eggers. The rest have been one big, one small or two smalls.

But anyway, latest pics of my Josephine and her clutch. She's been pretty good with them so far. I've got one tailed, the rest are rumpless. Today was the first rain in a while, so I had to save one stranded sopping chick before it truly perished alone. She's not the best about rounding up lost chicks.

Here are a couple from my most recent hatch, both of these are rumpless and double tufted

Look at those bilateral tufts!
I am hatching quite a few chicks that look like this one except they are blue with yellow bellies instead of black. They do not have the nice even tufts that this one does though. Nice job!

Well I sent an email to the people that have the ebay add for true Araucana but all their pics show mutts. I figure they already know they don't have araucana but just in case.

Love the pics of everyones babies.

Illia, Josephine has a beautiful behind.

Cathy,

Love the tufts.

I hope it is a case of mistaken identity and they correct their ad, rather than getting all uppity with you!

Wow! If that were struttin' around my place it would become a chicken-snack in no time. That's some tuft!

Haha, I think it has gotten this way because she keeps staying broody. No waltzing around to get it picked at! My poor splash boy's tufts have been abused by the other chickens!

In other news, I have some really 'special' hens.

Apparently my cuckoo girl can hatch out full grown hens!

LOL That is just brilliant! Love the video!

Gorgeous gals too, especially the duckwing.

Nice video Stacy,

I wish my hens would just cut to the chase and hatch out hens. It would save so much time. LOL!

I heard back from the ebayer and they were so nice. They had begun to suspect that the birds they got from a breeder were not what they were supposed to be. They are so upset. They do not want to cheat anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by their email.

Yeah I came across a Craigslist who was the same way too, it's soo nice when you come across people like that. The person actually even asked me where they could find real Araucanas.
