Araucana USA standard

Hi, I'm from Brazil and learning about the different standards of Araucanas around the world. Something is being difficult for me to understand. The APA's standard requires the ear tuffs but not every bird will have them, considering that the Homozygous birds dye in the egg and Heterozygous can pass the gen to half of the offspring, so the one that don't have the tuffs are just not categorized as araucanas? Tks

Not really a expert but my understanding of this is that the ones without tufts are Aracaunas, just not up to standards ameracauna.
