So, check out what I got this past Saturday!

I'm not planning to hunt with it (as of now, although I could be convinced. I've already gone through Hunters ed just in case), but I got this specific version so that I can hunt in the future should I choose to.
I'm sure there are some seasoned pros out there in the huge BYC community. Any advice for a newbie? Any stories you'd like to share of fun or scary bow experiences?
Thanks!

Yep my advise would be to practice alot! You should wear an arm guard to protect yourself from string burn (of course if you're holding it correctly you won't get it, but it will happen) and it keeps your shirt sleeves out of the way too. if you can find a local bow league, join it, you'll learn alot from other members.

What are you shooting with it? I'd recommend carbon arrows.. they hold up better to lots of practice!

And definatly GO hunting with it!

As stated, pratice, practice, practice. Also if you never shot before go to a pro shop and have them set you up and teach you the basic form, then join a league and take all the advice they are willing to give, you do not want to start any bad habits and this will help. Good luck, have fun, be safe and by all means go hunting.

I need to get an arm guard, although I've only hit myself once ever with the string. I've practiced some, but not with a sight until I got this one. I was using a genesis or something like that (I don't remember exactly). I bought it at a small shop and spent about 3 hours with the owner getting it fitted and getting into good form. I shot so much I thought my arm might fall off!

I bought half a dozen carbon arrows with the shorter fletchings and they seem to be flying okay.

Join a league? I've never heard of leagues around here, but I'll search.
Thanks!
