Are 15 eggs enough?

I want to order eggs from JMF. But since I just spent for starter stock, and an Incubator, I can only spend $30 for 15 Texas A&M eggs. WillI have a good chance of getting enough to breed for meat or this season.
I would like to end up with 2 groups, so I can start a small breeding program.
If 15 Isn't enough then I might be better off to get the brown coturnix to go with the stock I have.
What would you do?
I would/could order off ebay but I don't want to gamble right now.

You only need a couple or three hens and a cock bird. Think you should be ok!

Veggie, only because this is what I DID. Call JMF. You will never regret it. Make sure that you have a pen and a note pad handy... Robby is a true expert when it comes to quail... I'm thinking about asking the FBI if they can lend me the wiretap of my conversation with him...

Right now, I'm reviewing my notes that I took with him as my eggs are shipping on the 11th.

And fwiw, none of my current stock will be bred with those that I hatch from JMF. I don't want to "dilute" the lines.

Veggie, only because this is what I DID. Call JMF. You will never regret it. Make sure that you have a pen and a note pad handy... Robby is a true expert when it comes to quail... I'm thinking about asking the FBI if they can lend me the wiretap of my conversation with him...

If I bought brown I would have some of each. In other words some cages of all my stock, some pure JMF, and some crossed. Just for curiosity.
But I think my husband wants the A&M's for the white meat variation.

Just to clarify, as the misconception is rampant, A&M's flesh may be light in appearance compared to jumbo browns (even that is debatable, as many say once they get the feathers off when processing they see no difference) but still not white meat in the actual sense.
So if your husband is hoping for an actual white meat quail he may be disappointed, a flighted bird like quail will not have any white meat.

Yes I understand that now, not sure where I got that misinformation ( probably smewhere on the Inernet) Ha HA.. But it will still be fun raising them. We had our first quail tonight. Man was it good.

It is a pretty widely spread one!
Good luck on your growing quail endeavor! We harvested our first a few weeks ago, can't wait to have more!
