Ok about 4 years ago I ordered hatchery birds from efowl and I showed them and I won grand champ at 2 shows and reserve at 1 show them I ended up selling the pair for $150 so I was wondering is every hatchery bird a mutt? and can someone show me pics of your hatchery birds from stromberg, murray mcmurray, purely poultry and meyer and tell me how much they meet the standards.
THANKS

If you're looking for birds that conform to the APA standards then the hatcheries are not where you want to get birds from. Occasionally they may have some that would do well, but it's not the market segment they are really trying to service so those standards are not their focus.

Buy show birds from show breeders.

ha dont worry it was my fith time getting from a hatchery and it was my last. For the last 7 years I have only bought anything from breeders because all I do is breed poultry and that is how I make my living and no one wants hatchery birds.

Occasionally, there is a very nice bird come from a hatchery. It's not a regular thing, though, so it isn't the best place to look for quality birds. Their birds do what they are supposed to do which is to lay eggs and eat treats. They aren't intended to be show birds or breeding stock and none of the hatcheries make claim that they are.

Except I've heard that Strombergs sells birds in their "show" section from Urch and I would expect those to be pretty nice. Personally, if I wanted Urch birds, I would just order directly from Urch.
