Can you guys tell me if americanas are good setters cause all our chickens that sett make it cheaper cause we don't have to use the incubator plus I need the room in the incubator are they good setters?

Ameraucanas do get broody, but if they come from a big hatchery they are not true Ameraucanas. Hatcherys sell Ameraucanas crossed with other breeds, so it's anyones guess what you'd get as far as broodiness and color goes. If your interested in learning about Ameraucanas check out this site

Mine are fairly young-I have two blue Ameraucana pullets about 9 months old. One was threatening to go broody on me recently, but my DH took her off the nest she'd been on all day and into the night and broke the spell. I think she would have gone over the edge if he hadn't. That's more signs of broodiness than I've had from 99% of my other hens.
