Are Australorps typically this broody?

I have four black Australorps, bought as chicks last April. This year, three of them have been broody and want to be moms. I put one in the broody jail this morning,
can anyone with more experience tell me if this is normal or not?
Yes, this has been my experience as well. I have 5 black australorps in my flock. One went broody last summer (their first season), and two this season. I picked this breed due to this tendency, so we could raise our own cicks without having to deal with an incubator.

They make the best mommas!

They're so cute
When I plan on getting new chicks I'll let my australorps try being their mom

Yes Australorps can be relentless when it comes to being broody. They get depressed too if you try and break them. You are better off letting them be mommies. They make wonderful moms too!

We don't have any room for new chicks :( Maybe in another year or two they'll get a chance to be moms

What do you mean you do not have room? There is always room . . . right?!
