My bantam goes out in her completely exposed run in the middle of some of the worst Michigan winter days. I would say it is most important to have many shade options available for your hens. Most shrubs and conifer trees make a pretty, but still functional, sun break. The structure of your run sounds perfect as it will allow for good drainage. Also, I would recommend planting some hardy grasses you dig up from some unmowed part of your land (if this exists). I hope this helps!!!

this part of WA is Wet, Cold and Gray, that being what we tell visitors, reality is we get No more Rain then TX, it's just over Winter months.

I forgot to take Pic of Newest rehab Coop, will make Run, just stained Coop today, had a bit of Sun, so had to get to it. going to Raise it a couple feet, ↑ then enclose bottom, and make long run to join 5 X 6 covered box cube thing they have now. " Chicken Math "

Insulated Little one they have now
