are black sex links noisy?

Black Sexlinks aren't a breed rather a cross of different breeds (see link below). Of the possible crosses some will be noisy, other not so much. I usually make mine with a RIR over Barred Rocks which aren't super noisy, but not quiet and they do sing their egg song. I have a dark egg Black Sexlink that is a Welsummer over a Cuckoo Marans and she has the talkative tendencies of the Welsummers but the quieter voice of the Marans (ie. always complaining about something, but doing so softly).

The making of Sexlinks...

I haven't had black sex links in quite a few years (got too into bantams, and I don't eat enough eggs to justify more large-egg laying hens than the two I have), but mine were always quiet, polite, friendly hens. I don't remember them making much noise at all. They lay well and they're nice birds.

I think the loudest birds I have (aside from the guinea fowl

) are my phoenixes and a few of my Japanese bantams can be rather talkative.
