I purchased 2 blue gems at a tractor supply. One is darker than the other and not sure if it is a blue gem. Can someone please help me to identify the darker one. And I was wondering if the lighter one is a hen or too?

The first photo is the lighter blue gem and the 2nd photo is of the darker one. Thanks for your help

If by blue gem they meant sapphire gem, that's a sex-linked chicken (meaning you can easily tell males from females at hatch). Males would be barred, so if these are sapphire gems, they are definitely pullets.
I don't see any reason to think they aren't sapphire gems, there are a variety of shades of blue, some lighter and some darker.
