Are breeder pellets necessary?

Hello,

I will be incubating in a few days and have just realised i have been feeding the chickens on layers pellets
I know that breeder pellets are supposed to be used for hatching fertile eggs, but it is absolutely vital and will it have a negative effect on the eggs if I don't use them?

Thanks for any help
A prepared pellet is often the preferred nutritional basis for a pet bird. That's because those pellets are designed to be a nutritionally full, nutritious food. To keep your bird happy they will have the right fat content, vitamins and minerals. Not all pellets are however created equally

Ive never bothered actually buying breeders pellets, to be honest I thought it was just the same thing, maybe just packaged differently. All our feed comes straight off the farm anyway.
But I did a little digging and turns out I was wrong! (first time for everything eh!)
In essence Breeders Pellets contain 80+% more vitamins and minerals and contain yeast and 'bio-mos' (had to google it).

So my question now is if I already put a vitamin/mineral supplement in their water do I really need the extra vitamins found in the breeders feed??
Im thinking not......

We hatch hundreds of chicks every spring and have never fed breeder pellets.
