I am thinking they would be... but I couldn't find anything on the web about buckwheat as a feed for chickens. I have some buckwheat I thought was for spouting, but, it is for cooking!! So... Can I feed it to the chicks?

I have the opposite - I have buckwheat seeds that I bought online to feed my chickens but it turns out they are buckwheat "sprouting seeds". Are those safe to just toss into the run?
