As mentioned in the title i have Hunnigreen sorghum, soybean seeds and oat groats that someone gave me 5 bags of today and I’m just looking to find out if I can feed this to my chickens since the information I found on it online isn’t the best or clearest on wether I can or not. If they need to be processed in some way (like soybeans that need to be heat treated in some way) to be fed to my chickens I’ll happily do that for them. Knowing wether I can ferment or sprout these things will be helpful as well and knowing how much of it I can add to their diet or if it should just be kept as a treat :)

I'm sure they can be sprouted, assuming they aren't too old. That would be an excellent feed, particularly if you are in winter and have less greens available.

What is the blue grain? I'd be concerned that it has some type of chemical coating (fertilizer/etc) and likely wouldn't use it for feed.

My guess on that blue is that it is a pesticide or fungicide to protect the seeds from insects or fungus when they are sowed. That's pretty common for seeds. If you can, it would not hurt to ask if they were treated. Just looking at them I would not feed them without knowing. I don't think those soybeans or oat groats are meant to be planted. You can ask about them but I think they will be fine.

Chickens need a balanced diet. Too much of anything, even a super food, can upset that balance. I'd restrict them getting more than 10% of their daily diet from these, like any other treat. That means do not give them more than they can clean up in about 15 minutes on any day. Those should make great treats.

The blue looking grain is the sorghum seeds. I think it’s a coating as well and will see if it washes off (won’t give it to them either way) because I doubt such a colour would be natural but I’ve also never seen or heard of these seeds before and couldn’t find much information on them so I have no idea.

I try to give my chickens as much of a varied diet as I can and mix my own feed and then they get all the kitchen scraps and some vitamins in the water or over their food every now and then. During the winter I added oats to their diets which has done a lot of good for some of my birds so the groats seemed like they might be quite beneficial to add to the main fermented feed they receive everyday and then possibly the soybean seeds since soybeans are high in protein and very frequently used in poultry feeds it seems.

I wouldn't feed the green one, for one thing, or raw soybeans.
I’m a bit dumb with plants so I didn’t realize soybean seeds (these ones are meant for planting) and just soybeans are the same until earlier today when I showed them to my mom but I did mention when posting this thread that I do know that soybeans need to be cooked or roasted before being fed to the chickens so I will be doing that :)
