lately I have been seeing more and more caracaras in my area of south Texas. They don't seem to be to be all that aggressive. I have BOs some about 2 month olds and the rest are well over a year old. I did see one in the yard eating a duck egg from one of my runners. Sure wish they would lay in one spot lake my other birds.

I had to google them because I've never heard of them. They're beautiful falcons; but quite unlike falcons according to what I read. They prefer carrion, will take live food...................... however, they attack from the ground rather than diveing from the sky. I would think they would only be a threat to outdoor broodies, eggs, or baby chicks.
