I may be wanting to buy some cayuga eggs... but before i do, i was wondering if they are a skittish type of duck or not??

Mine were really friendly. You just have to get them as babies or hatch them out. Then give them all of your attention (which won't be hard) and they will bond to you really easily.

Mine are real friendly, they don;t like to be picked up, but they follow me everywhere and they move around me very comfortably.

Thanks guys! Is anyone selling any nice black eggs?? I love the look of the black eggs...

I love my cayugas. They are great ducks. Mine are friendly. I am selling eggs from mine but they aren't dark anymore since they have been laying for awhile. The only dark eggs are right at the beginning.

Does the egg color re-fresh in the spring?? Like if they stop laying in the winter..will the eggs be darker again in the spring?

I fully agree with these post, we have and sell them in black, blue and splash. They are very friendly domestic ducks, cant fly for nothing, so you're good there, get along well with all types of birds, arent aggressive like many other domestic ducks can be
free range great, but are best put up at night from preditor reasons.
Try some you'll love them,
As for egg color, they lay in all shade from near black to off white, most are in the lighter end of things, very few end up dark. Makes no difference on what hatches out of them anyway though.
Here's some pics of ours.
