Because they sure are cheap! However, perhaps I should choose a hatchery closer to home as I am in NY. Schlecht also has good prices.
I am planning on doing a broiler project next spring using large Saladin-style tractors. I would raise 25 chicks at a time since I don't have much pasture only a huge lawn. What do you guys suggest? Any tips? I thought this was a good way to get into raising meat animals.
