I never would have thought so, but my chickens want me to "put them to bed" and scratch each one before saying night night (I have a particular sing-song bit of nonsense that they coo along to and seem put out if I don't follow through with) and locking up the coop. They ssem upset if I don't follow this routine and will fuss if I don't do this. Is this normal? I have three little red hens. They hang out with my cats and seem to want as much attention as the cats do... Just curious what anyone has to say about chickens being affectionate in their birdy way.
