Are Chickens Ever Ostracized for Being Different?

All of this info is good. I have really started questioning whether I should get a single crested bird. I would hate to set chickens up for failure.

I have a dog that was set up for failure in his first home. (I am his third and forever after being surrendered to the breeder twice.) The first home put him in situations the breeder told the buyers would not be good for him, from behavior she noticed as a puppy. When he behaved badly, as predicted, he was the one punished. The second home just couldn't handle him because of those learned behaviors. With us, he is an amazing gentleman, and has a huge heart. I know what situations to avoid, and he is happy and well adjusted. But I digress. I just apply treating animals according to their personalities to set them up for success to all animals.

I am on the fence. I guess I need to see how the New Hampshires do as they get a bit older, as far as being bossy. One of my EE's is timid, the other is dominant and definitely top bird, but she's not mean or bullying. Just the now and then "I get first choice of mealworms" peck, but also obviously protective of her sister.
