Are chickens legal within Sacramento city limits yet?

Hi all! I'm new to BYC and want to keep a few chickens so my family can enjoy fresh eggs...and their lovely chicken-y company. I've been hearing rumors that soon (or perhaps already) the city council in Sacramento will be passing a new law allowing residents to keep chickens. Is it true? Does anyone know? In the past you could keep them in Sacramento County but not City. I'd prefer to not harbor illegal chickens, but we've already built the run and coop...so we're ready to go!
