To a certain extent they are, but unbeknownst to the rest of the family they are slowly making themselves more comfortable in the house with my RIR Bantams first venture into the kitchen today.

Mine are .....actually they could possibly my most favorite pets. I love dogs but they can be so much trouble! Chickens are easy to keep and inexpensive with the bonus of wonderful eggs!

We have a working farm.. if they dont lay we get rid of them... we need laying eggs...anywho.. it is still tough to get enough scrambled eggs for breakfast of 9 hungrey kids and mom and dad!! LOL

...I didn't know what relaxation you can have just watching them do their thing....

Oh my gosh, I know right? I have problems with anxiety attacks, and watching the chickens just peck around in the grass is like an instant mellow for me. I don't know if it's because I have so many childhood memories from my grandpa's farm or what, but it just feels right having chickens around, hearing a rooster crow, or watching them "do their thing" as you said.
