My chicks are 4 weeks old and have spent the last 4 nights in the coop with a heat lamp for warmth I check them through out the night and most of the time they are awake Do they sleep during the day and catch up The temperatures at night are in the upper fifties to sixties and the days are in the seventies and eighties

Tonight I am going to leave the light off and see how they do I've done a lot of work to predator proof the coop, so wish me luck

That happened to my chickens too! They would not go to sleep and will seem as if their still awake. if you turn off the lamp then they go to sleep. But if that's the only heat source, put a cloth over the lamp and they would go to sleep, but at the same time, get warm. And if they don't go to sleep, they would catch up in the morning.
