I was wondering, are emus hard to care for and do they have to have a big space?

I compare them to horses in their need for space. What would be ideal space for a horse to roam would also be good for an emu - the more space the better. They do not have many health problems once adults , babies you worry about splayed leg or leg problems. If mosquito bred illnesses for horses are a problem in your area I recommend giving them a horses EE & WEE shots yearly. They eat little despite their size as adults, and if kept in a good environment with ample space, clean water, grass to graze and interaction with other animals and people, seem to do quite well.
