Are feather projects, gross or creative

I'm not sure how I feel about feather wreaths on my doors. They are a breeding ground for all mites, dust, and lice. I love creative people and I actually envy artistic minds. But discarded feathers? Is that not like making a human hair collage from drain pipes? What say you?

I mean… the birds make human hair collages (nests) so I guess we can make discarded feather collages???

I make coats/ponchos with feathers, unfortunately I don't have any photos and they've since sold but I plan to keep the next one. They're extremely warm and somewhat water resistant, but they're so elegant to watch someone wear. Once my chicken empire takes off I hope to make other clothing items with them.

I make feather quill pens! I can't argue that they aren't gross ofc. That's why I always disinfect mine! I use boiling water and dish soap then dry them. Additionally, I also set them out in the winter at 60f degrees below zero so that way NOTHING can live on them.:)
I read “-60 F” and thought it was hyperbole until I looked at your profile and saw where you’re from 🤣🤣🤣
