Everything I've read says that Oyster shells are an absolute must. Especially if your flock is primarily a laying flock, and eggs are important to you. It's unfortunate that we need to supplement hens' diets so much, but if it's available to you and easy to get, definitely provide it to them. Preferably in a small dish or hanging feeder by itself (not mixed in with feed or grit). Good luck!
