Are flax seeds good for chickens?

Are roasted flax seeds good for chickens? It's just 100% roasted flax seeds no salt or anything.

Flax seeds are often added to feed for the Omega fatty acids they add to egg yolks. Be careful how much you feed to them, however, as I've read in several pieces of literature that they can cause an "off" or "fishy" flavor to the eggs.
