Geese are great at sounding an alarm but they they don't see well at night anymore than chickens do. My sis has lost two whole flocks of chickens to predators....but she still has the geese. Nothing bothers the geese but the chickens keep disappearing. Not much protection there....just a lot of noise and poop.
