Are German Shepherds...

I love all the pictures!

Someday my turn will come to get one too!

I get your point but let me use my example here this is a irl example of mine. A guy down the street from me owned a pitbull stigma to be bad ferious dogs it was unloved never walked never cared for hardly ever fed. Loving dog though i would time to time go feed it and take it for a walk the dog never barked wouldnt hurt a fly. I owned a Labrador retriever known to be one of the better breeds of dog for its friendliness. From the time it was a puppy we combated food agression with the dog but it was still loving great with my 2 kids and our cats and our birds. Even with strangers she would jump on them and lick them. So we had her for 3 years did training classes and stuff trying to break her food agression. It seemed to lessen over time but she still had a little. One day she got off her leash went next door and kill our neibours little 5 lbs dog. I just dont know what makes a dog a killer but i do know they easily can be without notice.

As far as livestock dogs, it just depends on the dog and its training....we have two Germs that are good livestock dogs (with what we have thus far), but have 4 that would NEVER be good livestock dogs (hence the missing eye in Jasmine)

My two are Millie and Moxie (White GSDs), but we also have a Red Sable, Tan with Black, Black with Tan, Black AND Tan (which you can see if you go to my BYC page since it would take, like, an entire page to put them all on this post!!!)

This is Millie - you can see on her nose where she's been bitten playing with rattlesnakes. Silly dog....

This is Moxie - she was born on 4th of July and we got her on Sept. 11th, so she was named after a still-living Search and Rescue dog that was assigned to the Twin Towers site.

I used to have a GSD and she was from Trotwood lines. All I can remember is Gator as her father and grandma was Capezio. The breeder lived in Springfield, IL and I don't know if she still raises them. Excellent for obeidence training and being raised alongside with collies and she has the sweetest personality. I had to give her back to her breeder because I was gone most of the time in college and it was not fair to her to be at home with my mom and she was my responsibility.

That is was the czec people call him. I did not say he was a wolf. He's completely black and is not a Bi-colored. All dogs come from feral dogs/wolves/etc... He is of GSD breeding just very old German Bloodlines that Hitler tried to get rid of during the war. The Czec took some of the dogs to the mountains and hid them.

Trust me I know enough about my dog to know what his bloodlines are and where he came from. He's not illegal either. alot of breeders in the US seek out my dog's breeding b/c he is a smaller frame with a straight back, and short hair.

p.s. he came with pink papers and it has all his breeding too

So sorry to hear about the incident.

The same thing happened to my mothers dog. She was a little westie and my Mom's neighbor had a golden ret. and it was supposed to be super friendly. A few times it showed a bit of aggression but, the neighbor would say she was just playing. One day my mom's dog was on the front steps just sitting there. The neighbor was walking her dog by my mom's front steps and the G.R. got loose and attacked the backside of my mom's dog when my Mom's dog was trying to hide behind the railing. The next day the neighbor admitted she was starting the fear the dog and I think the fear in the owner fueled the attack in the dog. Just a guess but, the best dog breed etc like you said Jay it is true! I never do 100% trust my dog even with the thousands of dollars in training. He's only 15 months old and I leave him home for Chickens shows in fear he would grab at one if the situation was right and I was not paying attention. Ya just never know

the neighbor felt terrible and wind up paying for the surgery and my Mom's dog did live another several years but, the same dog bit her daughter a week later and they gave the dog up to a rescue.

I was just going by your post. And since "Czech Wolfdog" IS a breed of dog, I have never known anyone to refer to a GSD as one. My boy is Czech bloodlines as well, from the Polica kennels.

My previous German Shepherd didn't mind the hens and allowed them to walk over his paws. My current German Shepherd would do anything to kill them! It is a real problem as he will run non stop around their cage.

yes, a Czech wolf-dog is an entirely separate breed from the GSD. and no, Czech people don't refer to GSDs as wolf-dogs. I breed and own Czech-line GSDs.
